Reciprocal borrowing
Saint Mary's College Library offers reciprocal agreements with a number of local colleges and universities, whereby each institution grants varying degrees of library privileges to patrons of the other. We are a member of the Link+ consortium, the Northern California Consortium of Psychology Libries (NCCPL), and the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC).
| Participating Institutions | Privileges for Students |
|---|---|
| Graduate Theological Union | Library privileges for the current semester at GTU by presenting a current SMC ID card and a California driver's license. |
| John F. Kennedy University (JFKU) | JFK allows free borrowing to SMC students. Students should contact the SMC circulation desk and request a "Direct Borrowing Pass" which will allow them four visits and borrowing privileges (6 items maximum at any one time and no renewals). |
| JFK Law Library | On-site use for a $5 daily fee, $45 per quarter, or $150 per year |
| U.C. Berkeley | Please check Melvyl to verify that the needed materials are in their collection. Bring a list of books and their call numbers, a valid SMC ID card, and a California driver's license to the Reference Desk where Reference librarians may issue a one day stack pass. To obtain a library card to check out materials, take your SMC Student ID to the service desk on the second floor. Cost is $100 per year for California residents. Card is good in most of the libraries on campus. |
| Link+ | Link+ books can be ordered online using the Link+ catalog. It takes approximately 4 business days for books to arrive. You can also borrow directly from participating Link+ libraries using the Visiting Patron option. Download our brochure for more information. |
